October 2021-June 2022

Prism Percussion is excited to announce our 2021-2022 season! This year brings us new performing opportunities outside of California. In November, Prism Percussion will be performing at the Percussive Arts Society's International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, IN. Shortly after, we will make our Ohio debut with our recital through the Arts at Holy Trinity concert series in Akron, OH.

Prism Percussion is also thrilled to be a recipient of InterMusic SF's 2021 Musical Grant Program having been awarded a grant to record Nicholas Pavkovic's Transit for percussion duo and keyboard. The recorded video will be premiered online.

Please stay tuned for further details about upcoming performances. We are looking forward to performing live again for our family, friends, and community!

Prism Percussion & Pavkovic

November 14, 2021

4:00 PM (ET)

Prism Percussion, joined by guest artists Emily Hall and Nicholas Pavkovic, present an evening of diverse music for percussion duo, voice, and piano. Prism Percussion will showcase the wide palette of sounds attainable with the use of battery, keyboard, and found instruments. The recital will culminate with several pieces commissioned by the duo: The Blacker the Berry by Steph Davis (they/them) speaks to how colorism draws a parallel between darker skin and masculinity and how that might affect darker-skinned folks' relationship with gender and expression, and Transit a virtuosic trio scored for mallet percussion duo and keyboard which will feature award-winning composer and pianist Nicholas Pavkovic.

Details about the event can be found here.
