Prism Percussion & Pavkovic
November 14, 2021
4:00 PM (ET)
Prism Percussion, joined by guest artists Emily Hall and Nicholas Pavkovic, present an evening of diverse music for percussion duo, voice, and piano. Prism Percussion will showcase the wide palette of sounds attainable with the use of battery, keyboard, and found instruments. The recital will culminate with several pieces commissioned by the duo: The Blacker the Berry by Steph Davis (they/them) speaks to how colorism draws a parallel between darker skin and masculinity and how that might affect darker-skinned folks' relationship with gender and expression, and Transit a virtuosic trio scored for mallet percussion duo and keyboard which will feature award-winning composer and pianist Nicholas Pavkovic.
Details about the event can be found here.
